How it works

A bureau is a reseller: independent firms operate under your account, and you handle one relationship with us.

1

We set up your bureau

We create your bureau account and set your firm limit based on what you contract. Bureaus are onboarded by our team today — there is no automated signup yet.

2

Add your firms — self-service

Add independent firms yourself, up to your contracted limit, right from your bureau dashboard. Each firm gets its own TaxGoing workspace, preparers, and client list.

3

Each firm works privately

Every firm prepares returns for its own clients. Firms cannot see each other's data, and you as the bureau never see any client's tax information — only aggregate return volume.

4

One consolidated bill

At month end we total the returns filed across all your firms and price them by volume. One invoice, graduated per-return pricing that drops as your total grows.

Volume pricing that rewards growth

Graduated per-return pricing on your bureau's monthly volume, priced separately for 1040 and 1120-S. Every return is billed at its tier's rate — never the top rate on all of them.

💡 Graduated, and priced per form type. 1040 and 1120-S returns are billed on separate tables and separate monthly counts — never combined. The first 15 of each are the standard retail rate ($25 for 1040, $45 for 1120-S); your discount begins at return 16 and deepens with volume. Filing more than 50 of either a month? Contact us about custom terms for even higher volume.

Pricing is per federal return, billed on your bureau's combined monthly volume across all firms, separately for 1040 and 1120-S. There is no separate base fee. State returns are calculated and printed for paper filing.

Two-factor authentication, role-based preparer access, and a full audit log of every action, on every firm under your bureau.

Bureau FAQ

How am I billed?
One consolidated invoice per month. We add up the returns filed across all of your firms and price that combined volume using the graduated tiers above. You are billed as one bureau, not firm by firm.
Are 1040 and 1120-S priced separately?
Yes. Each form type is billed on its own graduated table and its own monthly volume — the two are never combined into one count. 1040 returns run from $25 down to $12/return; 1120-S returns from $45 down to $22/return. Your monthly total is simply the sum of the two.
What does "graduated" pricing mean?
Every return is billed at the rate of the tier it falls into — you are never charged the top rate on all of your returns. For example, on 30 1040 returns in a month, the first 15 are $25 each, the next 14 are $22 each, and the 30th falls into the $18 tier. 1120-S returns follow the same structure at their own rates.
Why are the first 15 returns billed at the standard rate?
The first tier is the standard per-return rate — the same price a solo preparer pays retail, with no bureau discount ($25 for 1040, $45 for 1120-S). Your volume discount kicks in at 16 returns and deepens as you grow.
Can I add more firms later?
Yes. You can add firms yourself at any time from your bureau dashboard, up to your contracted limit. If you reach that limit, contact us and we will raise it.
Can my firms see each other's clients or data?
No. Each firm operates in its own isolated workspace with its own clients, preparers, and returns. One firm can never see another firm's data.
Do I, as the bureau, see my firms' client data?
No. Your bureau view shows only aggregate metrics — how many returns each firm filed and your total volume for the month. You never see client names, SSNs, or any tax data. That privacy is by design.
Which forms and states are supported?
The same coverage as the rest of TaxGoing: federal Form 1040 and 1120-S with common schedules, federal e-file today via IRS MeF, and state returns calculated and printed for paper filing. State e-file is not yet available.
How do I get started?
There is no automated purchase for bureaus yet — we set each bureau up by hand so we can configure your firm limit and pricing correctly. Email us and we will get your bureau account running.
